Characters Disappering

a feature film by Connor Sen Warnick

Set in New York’s Chinatown in 1971, a student activist struggles to improve conditions for Asians, while her cousin’s apathy towards the notion of community and the complications of her own interracial relationship provoke internal strife.

Invasive Species

a short film by Annie Ning

A young Asian American sound artist confronts feelings of a growingly surreal imposter syndrome at her first-ever artist's residency. I created the sound of the main character’s sound installation, and the score performed on double bass and guitar drove her spinning mind to action.

Bình

a short film by Ostin Fam

A visitor arrives on a quest to find assistance to rebuild his home. He makes a stopover at a construction site in Vietnam, where the biggest temple of the world is being built.
I built a complex spacey score for the film using eerie, etherial, dream-like textures derived from many different manipulations of my double bass.

Cuspid

a short film by Rose Beth Johnson-Brown

In a near-future California changed by the climate, nine-year-old EZ makes each day a celebration of life despite the frantic radio reports about the planet and the worried whispers of the women raising her. My score sits within EZ’s perspective, using synthesizers to follow her momentum through the thick air

Through & Through & Through

Found Object

a short film by Joseph Eusebio

Inspired by sleepless nights, stray cats and other wandering animals, and flashing traffic lights after rainfall, Found Object tells the story of a boy and his connection to this aluminum figure. Most sounds for this film were constructed from the ground up, working significantly with foley and other sonic fabrication. Throughout the film, moments and objects of light are given specific musical and tonal characteristics, propelling the sound of the film through its eerie progression.

Dear Sylvia

a short film by Ruby Lanet

Inspired by a series of letters in Laurie Weeks' novel Zippermouth, "Dear Sylvia" is a film that merges an honest declaration of the hardships that 13 year-old Shea is facing with an imaginative tone of escapism. This mix of uncomfortable reality with experimental absurdity is inspired by Sylvia Plath’s own writing.

The music I wrote and sounds I designed for this film, took a bare, light tone to uplift and propel the story forward, while underlining the importance of the young narrator.

Bloody Canvas

a short film by Henry Kinder

This comedy takes place on set for a film where a director begins to lose his grip on his movie and his sanity. The sound for this film tended toward the realistic, but was heightened at moments of insanity. The percussive score for this film added a constant level of tension to build off of. Elements like the score allowed us to play with sound to bring out the hilarity in this dark story.
